PanDev Metrics Plugins

PanDev Metrics plugins are lightweight modules installed inside your development environment (IDE, code editor, and so on). They automatically capture what your engineers work on and how long it takes, then forward that telemetry to the PanDev Metrics Core. This makes productivity analysis and decision-making truly data-driven.

What Makes the Plugins Special

  • Built around a zero-click philosophy—developers never start or stop tracking manually.
  • Record opened files, branches, projects, and the time spent editing code.
  • Send everything to the PanDev Metrics Core, where the data powers dashboards and analytics.

Available Plugins

  1. JetBrains Plugin – supports IntelliJ IDEA, PyCharm, WebStorm, Android Studio, GoLand, and other JetBrains IDEs.
  2. VS Code Plugin – integrates with Visual Studio Code.

How It Works

  1. Developers install the plugin in their IDE/editor.
  2. The plugin unobtrusively tracks activity: opened files, coding sessions, commits, branch switches.
  3. Telemetry is sent to the PanDev Metrics Core and stored in PostgreSQL.
  4. Metrics become available in Grafana dashboards or any visualisation tooling you connect.

Security and Privacy

  • No screenshots, screen recordings, or personal data storage.
  • Data is transmitted over secure HTTPS/TLS channels.
  • Administrators decide which files or projects are tracked.
